I am starting 10th grade now, and my parents want to reward me for a 5.0 GPA (In Bosnia students are numerically graded and grades are 1/5), and I want to get a gaming laptop. I am a gamer, and have always have been. He said that he’d be willing to spend 10 USD on the laptop. I was thinking of getting a Lenovo Ideapad Y580. It has 8 GB of DDR3 RAM, an Intel i7 3630QM with a turbo boosted clock at 3.3GHz, and an Nvidia GeForce GTX 660m GPU. The GPU is last year’s model and I was wondering if it would keep up with all the new games coming out. Anyway, are there better laptops I can get for less than 10 USD??

I AM a hardcore gamer, and I would get a desktop, but I will need a laptop to carry around, and to play games while at home. I think 10 USD is pretty reasonable. I can name 5 very good gaming laptops right now that cost less than 10 USD. And frankly, if I had 20$, don’t you think I’d buy an Alienware right away?

First of all, Aleinwares only deliver decent performance at ridiculous prices, and to get any hardcore gaming done you would need to dish out more than 3k if you were dead set on an Alienware.
Secondly, the laptop you mentioned is somewhat mediocre, in terms of the video card. Based on my experience with computers in general, I would suggest getting a Sager Notebook. They build custom gaming laptops, and are based in California. They do really good work with the Clevo parts they use. Take a look at their site: http://www.sagernotebook.com/
They have some of, if not the best Price:Specs ratio, so if you are really serious about getting a high-performance PC for under 10$, you should definitely check them out. I got a laptop from them at 2.4k, with a i7 2.7 GHz, 512 GB SSD, a 2nd 750 GB HDD, 32 GB of 16 Mhz RAM, and a Nvidia 675MX with 4GB memory. The screen is 1080p, 95% Color Gamut in Matte. Not only that, but the keyboard is amazing with 3 sections you can change to 9 different colors, in different modes. Oh, and a fingerprint scanner, which actually provides more convenience than you would think.
The trackpad is also very nice, and you can do most of the things with it that you can do on an Apple track bad, like go back, zoom in, etc.
I only got the particular model I did is because I hate the new island-style keypads, but any other one would work. Sager is known for making reliable and fast products.

I think the best option for you is the Lenovo Y5. What type of game do you play? Some games are more demanding than others.
The Lenovo Y5 got the I7 CPU with 2 GPU. However, it got 6 GB RAM, but you can change it if you feel like its not enough.

That laptop looks ok. If your are a serious gamer just get a good desktop.
Desktops are a lot more powerfull the laptops.

Chose this for the 1080 screen, the GTX 850M discrete graphics, the 4th generation processor, and ASUS build quality. Compared side by side to a similar cost/featured HP Envy series and the ASUS definitely “looks and feels” better quality.
I immediately upgraded the memory to 16 GB with another stick of Kingston RAM ( Kingston Technology 8GB 16MHz DDR3 ). The stock setup very conveniently comes with a single 8GB RAM stick, which makes it very easy/cost effective to upgrade to 16GB. I also upgraded the HD to an SSD/Dual drive ( WD Black2 Dual Drive 2.5″ 120 GB SSD + 1 TB HDD Kit /). Both upgrades went smoothly and the performance has been great.
