If it is a web site, you want to build, you have lots of nice possibilities. You might look in Y! or Google for preliminary help, and or also seek advice from a friend.
A few years ago I was given a web site by my little son as a Christmas present. I had no idea about what to use one such site for. But then I could see that I had a lot of pictures that I could try and upload.
For the moment I have no idea about any business use for a web site, but even for a small business a web site would be great.
You might start building your site on your own, or with the help of somebody.

depends on what you want to do with your website, I sell various items on mine started with Yahoo you get a lot with them but you pay a little more for it, you could try MSN but you better be technically capable of code for there web builder, there are others out there requiring various degrees of technical know how. So far I like Prostores pretty simple once you get to know it. Or you could have a site done by a Pro but that cost a pretty penny.
It all depends on your finances and what you want to do with it.
I own several from Stores Online Pro and they are awesome. Look them up and if your interested I will sell for really cheap. Look at all the templates, tutorials, help, help chat and more you get. Let me know if I can help further.
