Can humans make flies go extinct?

You know those flies that are only useful to get us annoyed? Can we exterminate all of them? Do we possess that ability without hurting other species?

  • Flies serve an ecological purpose. They are food for other animals and they help decompose stuff. So no, I think we have to get along with them. I once heard that mosquito are extraneous, but I think the person who said that just really hates them. Not like anyone likes them of course.
