  • Hi Elize,

You can’t use a password to protect files and folders in Windows. There are other ways to protect your files and folders in Windows. You can either encrypt your files using Encrypting File System (EFS), manually specify who can access the folders or files by setting permissions, or hide them. Choose your method based on how secure the folders or files need to be. For more information on this, you may refer to link: http://bit.ly/Mjw and http://bit.ly/lzd

There are some third party programs (like folder lock etc) that might serve the purpose. While researching on this issue, I found a link that might be of some help. You may refer to link: http://bit.ly/gqVL These options are neither tested nor recommended by Dell.

    Hope this helps.

    Thanks and Regards,

  • You can not even think about it in windows Because any windows version does not give this facility, for doing this you need to install addition application software which can help you to protect your folder by the password.

But you can hide your folder on your private location by a click to hidden from right click over the folder and enable the option like hide the file and folder in folder setting in the control panel.

  • You can protect your personal document in your pc using Secure folder software here a link i give you, you can download it here https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u//Secu…
