Can I use a normal energy save lightbulb in reptile tank?

I have three turtles and the u b light has just blown I don’t have another and am wondering if I can use a energy saver as I back up until I can get another one???

  • No, the energy efficient CFL lights do not produce as much heat which is what you want from a light-bulb in a reptile tank.

  • I would not. One is a heating light bulb and the other is just for light. The normal enery saving lightbulb will not create enough heat.

  • Turtles are cold blooded so it won’t hurt them.
