CPU FAN HELP!!!!!!!!????

i have a dell optiplex gx 620 and i replace my intel pentium 4 3.4ghz with one core and my fan worked fine. i upgraded to a 2.8ghx 2 duo core cpu because it got it for free. my computer is in its side and the heat sink isnt screwed on.. when i screw it in it starts to speed d up 10 seconeds latter it sounds like a jet so i unscrew it and put puresure on it and it stops? can some please help me?

My computerhas a heat sink but a fan on the case for cooling that thefan

  • Take your whole set-up, or at least as much as possible out to Microcenter at about 92nd and Metcalf in OP, K.

    They’re THE best, if not only retail supplier on build yer own ‘puter stuff.

    They’ve got on-the-floor type ppl who’ll know exactly what you need, even if they don’t have it.

  • whilst disabled, your cpu fan runs at a continuing velocity all of the time. whilst enabled, the followers velocity differences with the temp of the cpu. as quickly as you’re using it and the temp rises, the fan speeds up; whilst the laptop is idle, the cpu temp drops, and the fan slows down, so as this is quieter and using much less skill.
