I made a video in sony vegas and rendered it. Would I need to convert it in order to get it into iMovie?

What format did you render in? If in .mov, then it’s ready to be imported. If it’s in a different format, like wmv, avi, mp4, then you need to convert the video into .mov using something like SmartConverter on the App Store. Then if your all set, get to making videos!
