Do you agree with Sir Vivian Richards words regarding Batting Mastero Tendulkar?

It is the greatest compliment for me that such a figure, and so humble, and saying that he wanted to bat like me! I would say Sachin is a class act and I would pay back the compliment.”

Look how both of them are complimenting each other even if they are legends of the game. That’s the one which makes them Legend. Respect to both of them.

Don’t think there is any greater cricketer alive, whom everyone has seen playing for real or on T.V. and for him to say that, it makes Tendulkar the real king of cricket. I don’t know if few people don’t agree with Tendulkar’s great status, doesn’t change anything, when great players of Viv Richards & Brian Lara’s caliber are saying so, their voice carries much more value than the one you are supposed to be cloning, he is also here with his garbage tonight..

Difficult to dispute that but such a statement has to be taken with a ladle of salt because there are periods, phases & moments when many others have threatened to dispel that course of thinking. What does perfection in batting mean…a strong defense, excellent offensive tactics, strategic thinking on when to play what, how & where, encouraging team mates to play along with him all matter.

Honestly speaking, even if someone has lived for 30 years married, you can’t say that he won’t ever go through a divorce can you? That’s why, players like Ponting, Kallis, Dravid, Lara, Hayden, Chanderpaul probably weren’t able to play with the same freedom & attacking fervor as SRTcould but were no less kings of batsmanship! SRT was a fluent player against both pace, spin & unorthodox bowling but there was a passage of play in the early nineties to early 25 when he was at his peak but I hardly think that was the time when India won matches as against drawing or losing a series!

Philosophically, everyone wants to see attacking brand of cricket as against slow, steady, cautious types so in that sense SRT opened up new frontiers or horizons over the old guard! Think Sir Viv didn’t add anything new basically, just joined the party. Recently, Dickie Bird’s team of champions has no mention of the midget at all!! Howzzat
