My last day of work for a major institution was last week — I’m free. I’d started my own business a few months ago and that’s doing well, so few financial worries. Anyway, I feel giddy. Like a huge weight is off my shoulders. Did you feel the same when you broke free from “the man?”

Know that feeling so well when my ex started his own swim. pool business. Started off slowly, but when it took off I hired 2 women to take my place & I just did the payroll. I agree was one great feeling tho just to “be in change”. Do well with your business, Eddie, all the best as you are one go getter…:)

I ran my own desk top publishing centre for 10 years … it was fun but when my son started having lot of health problems and with no support from my husband i got tired of being the boss… i felt relieved when i closed down the business. …. right now i am enjoying my work … I am not as healthy as i used to be …. so working in an office is more easier for me …. besides i get along very well with my boss. I have more freedom than anyone in the office…. but in furture if my son helps me in starting a new business then yes i might give it a try…
I have felt that way when I left a job I disliked. It was a good feeling, very freeing. I’ve had both jobs I disliked or hated and jobs I liked or loved. Several years ago, I lost a job I did like because they were closing, but I started my own business on eBay and I loved it. I liked being an entrepreneur and being my own boss. It was good while it lasted. Now, I am hoping to find another job but not one I’m going to hate. Anyway, congrats on your new business!
Eddie, I haven’t had a boss in over 5 years, except for my ex and that’s history as well. 🙂 So every decision I make, bad or good rests on my shoulders. The only problem I have is I find it difficult to kick myself in the as s when I do screw up.
