Do you recommend me being held back?

i do terribly at school with an average gpa of 2, i’m a junior. all my past gpa scores were at least a 3. i did not even know that i had to take the sat until about two months ago and i tried signing in to take one but all the places i have called are booked. i’m considering going to my counselor and requesting to be held back, but i am afraid of the embarrassment and may want to go to another school but i know my mother would never go for that. the school year is ending in about 5 weeks and my grades are in the toilet, i feel that all i need is to be held back just to redo all the classes i failed and have another year at it. my worry is how will a college look at that, would they be proud that i asked to be held back myself to remake what i have done wrong or would they rather have had me continue with a gpa of 2

  • Personally i would check to see if your state offers free online public highschool classes. I know mine does (Minnesota). Maybe you could redo your year online and not have to worry about facing your peers in school if you decided to do the year over again?
