  • You are NEVER NEVER NEVER too old for school!

As a, well, a former college student I found it common that adults about your age and even much older were looked on with a little bit of a “good for them” mindset. I’ve had elderly ladies in my classes, mothers of 5 children, newfound fathers, parents going to school together; any combination you may think of, and my brothers and I always looked at them favorably. It takes guts to go back to school when raising a family or working full time. It takes guts to be the only 60 year old man taking a high-school level placement class with other college students.

For example, the same mindset is often found in gyms with older, retirement age adults. They often walk into a gym unsure and believing the younger adults and older teens will judge them because they have a belly or can’t do as much as someone a third their age, but that just doesn’t happen. Often times its a sort of unannounced respect that they were brave enough to come at all. Because when it come down to bettering your health and bettering your mind, applying yourself with the devotion necessary to do so is already doing so much more than those who sit around and wish things different.

Besides, do you really think the sick or injured patients you inevitably care for when you’ve finished your schooling care what age you were when you first sat down to learn the information that could possibly be saving their life?

Go for it! NOTHING to be ashamed of!

Oh lordy, maybe I should take an english class next.

  • You are never too old to go back to school.

  • No!! It’s never too late for school. My boyfriend is 32 also and I’ve been trying to convince him to go back to school when I do

  • You’re never too old.

  • You’re not too old to go back. There isn’t an age limit and I don’t think people would notice

  • I agree that you are never too old to go to college. I see people much older than 32 at my school.

  • No. My mom is 48 and just went back, and her friend who is 50-something went back a few years ago and just finished with her psychology degree. You can go back whenever you want.

  • Age is not your problem; you can’t spell for crap.
You will most likely have to take admissions tests, and this could be a problem with your spelling–but you should go for it if that’s what you want. Don’t worry about your age. I went back and got my master’s degree in my late 40s.

  • Not college. Probably sororities, but not sure.

  • You’re never too old. One of my classmates (and now a good friend of mine) was 31 when we were in college. And where I live, it’s not uncommon to see people in their 40s and 50s going back to school. And every year the local papers showcase an elderly graduate (usually in their late 70s or 80s).

  • Please! I went back to college at the age of 35 and graduate college at the age of 39 where I earned dual degrees in Computer/ Electrical Engineering. I’m turning 43 in July and is strongly considering about going back to college to become an Occupational Therapist. I want to be able to make a lasting difference in the lives of people with disabilities and enjoy doing it versus working a thankless job that has no meaning to it what-so-ever.

  • If your heart’s in it, you should go for it. If that’s the job you really want and if all it requires is a few years of college, I’d do it. You might learn new things you never understood back when you first went to college. It’s a good idea! If you want to do it, do it!

  • No way. Take control of your own destiny and get back out there and show them what you have to offer. You got this!
Also-if you want an example, my mother went back to school at age forty while she was pregnant with me!

  • Never too late, go now that you are still young dont let the opportunity pass by!! Think about it in the future, what would be better? to have gone to college even though you were 32 or to stay without going and regret it? your choice, think it thoroughly xD

  • I do not think you are too old to go to a nursing college. Nursing is a profession of service industry. I wish you may go.

  • I have been to community college, graduated with associates and am now in University. I see people older than you ALLL the time. there are 40 year olds in almost every class. Going to school isnt like going to a Club in downtown on a friday night where they only let the young crowd in. This is education, if you think you should stop learning at 32, THEN dont go to college. You only have one life, get the most out of it.

  • NO! It is not too late when it comes to learning. And it will never be. Because, learning process will continue in rest of our life from what happen surrounding us. For your information, I got a MILF teacher, and recently she got bachelor in Computer Science. Her age is around 35! I hope that this may help you 🙂

  • You are not too old ,many employers send their employees on education courses if they are not fully qualified for the job what ever age you are.
Back in the days, it was thought that college was only for the young but you find that many adults to lessons for higher learning, some even take up a lesson as a hobby.

  • go back and get a proper education

  • No. You can go back anytime, you are the only one that can say you’re too old. The credits you already have, I’m not too sure about that. Don’t be afraid to ask!! This is a big decision, so, get ALL the info. you can !!! Good Luck !!!

  • of course not !

  • 32 is not too old to go back to school. When I went to nursing school, there was a handful of older people. If you want to do it, then DO IT.
