  • Depends on what the schools requirments are. At my school you have to have the form for a jump down and know how to do a toe touch, hurkey, and any optional jump that you want p[lus have the dance and the energy down. I suggest you deff learn those and get the form down. Also it would be good to learn some extra things like a cartwheel, round off, back hand spring, etc. You need to have a happy energy ALWAYS and smile ALWAYS! And just have confedence. COnfidence is key!

  • in texas schools, they look for good tumblers and some people that can jump (arm in arm with others) into the splits (kind of like the wave but linked the whole time). they also look for people who can fly and are good dancers (for drill team) cause if your a cheerleader you also must be in drill team or band or flag people (not sure what the technical name for them is). dont be afraid to show the coaches your strong points and especially dont be afraid to show them your weaker points… this way they know that they have a purpose of being your coach. during the audition its okay to show your nervous because most of the people there are too! and if you get to make up your routine (freestyle) dont just show off your strengths… show off some weaknesses too but showcaase the 5 or 6 things your really good at in the small song. hope that helped a little :/
