I have a couple of websites. They all have sitemaps and are registered with webmaster tools.
A couple of my website domains have .php at the end or .index.html
IE – www.domain.com/index.php
Does this affect my SEO ranking?? or does it not matter? I don’t know if it will affect the Google spider crawling my site.
If it does affect my SEO – how can I rectify this?
Many thanks

from
www.domain.com/index.php
and
www.domain.com/index.php
to
www.domain.com
In other words, select one URL and stick with it, redirect all others.
very little apart from the fact that php tends to be professionally written and html is more amateurish.
I am very much the later but believe that seo is one rare field were a good amateur can outdo the pros.
In my case i wrote an html site which successfully passed on its search engine ranking to a professionally written php site.
good question here is the problem i find if you name it .php lots of sites cant capture a picture of you google is the same but if you use the .htm or .html you can i suppose it wont make much difference because you have to think Microsoft uses .asp and they still rank well Google only cares about good quality content and original work i would worry more about that for SEO

Don’t worry there is no affect of your SEO. Once you complete the seo processes you can Ping your website urls with help pinging websites. It would be very useful for you.
It does not affect the SEO
The code needs to be clean and written well in php

you’d better redirect www.domain.com/index.php to www.domain.com
Not at all. It will affect you only when URL include ___/?ID=3
