Yes , poison bait is stored in different locations and is often uneaten. I have see this happen many times with mice, rats and pack rats. They remove the food/bait and cash it. When you find the empty container you think that you have killed off these critters when in fact nothing has happened.
if you mean the poison pellets that are used to get rid of mice and rats, yes – they can carry them away for storage, like other food. They also eat some where it is left, and go to die somewhere else.
Yeah , they can move it so that it ends up posioning endangered wildlife and birds, and even children. Putting poisons out into the ecosystem is NEVER a good thing. Also, if a hawk or other predator eats it, it could also be poisoned and die.
