Double Jointed Cheerleader?

I’m a cheerleader and double jointed when ever I do moves and stuff i over extend any tips or stuff?

  • The first thing I would do is practice in front of a mirror and learn to control your movements. Second, I would consider either talking to your coach about this if she has experience with double-jointed cheerleaders or consulting a physical therapist.

    You can hurt yourself VERY easily by over-extending yourself. Not temporary damage; permanent, rest-of-your-life injuries. If the coach can’t coach you on correct methods to prevent injury you really need to consult someone else who can.

  • Practice in front of a mirror. You have to have the muscle memory engrained into your mind. I had the same problem when I was a cheerleader.
