Driving under other persons insurance?

I am 18 and I have my permit and I been driving my girlfriends moms car but recently she said I cant because im not covered by her insurance. I do not have the same address as her. am I covered by her insurance or no?

  • In the USA, anyone who drives an insured car with the owners permission and has a valid drivers license will (with very rare exceptions) be covered by whatever insurance that has been placed on that car.

    Don’t you agree, though, that it would be best to ask your girlfriends Mom’s insurance company if you are covered or not?

  • unless her mom has given you permission to drive their car. and they have full coverage on their insurance. you will not be covered if you get into an accident.
