ebay problem tell me guys what do u think about this situation?

I am a new ebay seller, I accidentally put in the wrong shipping price. I was unable to change it. So a buyer won my item. i told her nicely what had happened. she bought the item for $3.75 shipping 5$ she lives very far from me. the item originally cost 30$!!!! unfortunately when i looked at other people selling the item they were making 25-30 bucks . But no one trusted me because i have zero feed backs .I told her i am going to give her a full refund but she demanded i ship the item. I went to the post office the shipping and packaging was way more then she paid. so i told her nicely i can not send it. she said that she really wats it so i told her to pay for the extra shipping. she said no. so i gave her a full refund. she left me a very negative feedback. I only have her bad feed back right now and it doesn’t look pretty if i ever want to sell . was i wrong? what should i do?

i forgot to mention i gave her full refund right away within 2 days.

  • Yes,you were wrong. Respond to the feedback and say it was a mistake. Don’t point at the buyer.

  • I hate to say this, but yes…you were wrong.

    When you offered the item on eBay you were obligated to sell it to the winner, but you didn’t do this.

    Yes, I understand that you’re a new seller and you made a mistake in your listing. But unfortunately this was a small price to pay, as opposed to upsetting a buyer. And you can now see what a buyer can do when they are unhappy with a seller with 0 feedback.

    It’s also against eBay policy to ask for more money after the sale.

    It would have been better to eat the additional shipping cost.

    Right now, there’s really nothing you can do to resolve this. But I would suggest continue your listings. Also, write a professionally-worded response to the feedback. Don’t point at the buyer…take responsibility for your mistake in your response. Hopefully people will read this and understand it was a horrible mistake.

  • nothing you can do. imo feedback shouldnt be an option for refunded transactions.

    you situation is of your error but for a 1.25 if i understand right it wasn’t worth you fighting over ne how.

    now on int’l shipping tons of goofballs come in thinking they get the usa priority price when in fact true cost is much higher and they dont bother to even use my calculator

    similar things happen for me when I list from resales and an item goes out of stock. I notify them hey out of stock 4 about 2 weeks or refund. so either they wait and 0 star me on ship time (twats) or get a full refund and neg me.

    original cost doesn’t mean jack crap on ebay though. stuff devolves in value fast. that msrp is meant for splurge shoppers. us netters are not emotional shoppers -we are mostly bargain buyers (I use sniping programs myself)

    example you can buy a game for 60+ tax new. 3 months later if it was a stinker….dont be sad if you see 20 -expenses out of it.

    besides if you set it at auction with no reserve (Cheap for ebay to charge u 4 that option) you are responsible if the whole world save one bid is asleep and bids 1.50 for a ps3. if you want to be good in ebays eyes – you must sell. however your not legally bound/enforced at least to do so and can go oopsy doopsy my lion ate it no longer 4 sale and get away with just a virtual scratch via red feed.

    thats 4 more expensive things though. just take the red even though on some levels it is wrong as ebay will not do anything to help you. even for powersellers they simply say tough titty we don’t care we made interest and fee’s off the money for a while ne how

    also since you are 0 and now -1…be sure to follow up on the comment. go to feedback/response and type Shipping misunderstanding. Issued full refund. Got neg after refund!!!! or such

  • From my adventure with previous online purchases, eBay and others. The transport guy won’t ask to verify identity, as long by fact the address is the comparable address indexed on her card, maximum they’re going to ask for is only a signature so as that they have evidence of transport. they do no longer care who signs and indications it by fact the address. in an prolonged time if the kit replaced into signed for and u did no longer recieve it, u can seem up the order online monitoring and spot the call of the guy that signed it to verify who it replaced into and evidence that they made the errors. each and every so often they gained’t even ask for a signature yet they simply depart it at your door, it only relies upon on what the guy that further it chosen(ask for signature at door or depart at door) i do no longer think of u could be troubled yet I stay in Florida, it must be diverse the place united states, wish this helped out.
