I ordered a HITACHI G-DRIVE Mobile USB GB USB . White External Hard Drive G but it is meant for Apple MacBooks. How can I get it to work with a msi laptop with windows ? It turns on when I plug it into the msi laptop but my computer won’t read it. How can I fix this?
Update:
Actually my computer does know it is there but I can’t access it. It does not appear in My Computer where my other external hard drives display themselves. How do I fix this?

Well I went into my control panel and went to Administrative tools but the rest of it is confusing.

First make sure the HDD is plugged in to usb port. Next go to control panel then click system and maintenance. Scroll to bottom and under administrative tools there should be an option that says create and format hard disk partitions. Open it. It will take a second it is reading all disks connected. Located the GB HDD right click the part where there is a blue bar going across the screen click format. Choose NTFS, which is windows formatting, do quick format. after done it should appear under computer
