This seems to affect the younger generation more than the older generation probably because:
1) Men stick to roles that they’ve relied on to define themselves as individual to defer disposability by women in life
2) They don’t watch as much television as younger people do
But this doesn’t change the fact that the father-figure roles in mainstream hollywood is becoming more buffoon-like while being married to a smart-alecky, somewhat nagging and verbally abusive wife. This has to do with gender role shifts and now with women working more, desireable traits of men to prevent them from being disposable is to be a blunt object that blindly provides and protects while accepting the wife as the master of the household. I so often see younger generation males exhibiting these exact characteristics with their girlfriends or wives; letting the women be the controller of conversations in group outings and are expected to take jokes and sit patiently and attentively to their partner’s needs.
Is this a trend you’ve noticed? I personally think men need to do away with chivalry altogether so that the state of men and women is exactly as women have fought for, equal. Currently, there is an imbalance in the sexes, women cannot eat their cake and have it too.

Don’t even try to blame this on women. The TV shows that portray men are stupid and the women as smart are created by men, men are the ones that made Hollywood movies and shows this way so stop trying to blame women when men are the ones that wrote the scripts for those shows. Men make each other look like baffoons, not women.
