Fellow City supporters why do you think we failed to defend our title this season?

Personally i think our transfer policies have been all over the place this season. Selling De Jong was a big mistake he did so much cleaning up for us and we conceded a lot of goals just outside the box this season, a area De Jong normally dominated. Also i felt we needed to bring in a wide player to stretch defenses and offer something different to the team. Im glad we didn’t bring in RVP tho, no respect for the man what so ever.
I think Aguero’s injuries have been a massive factor and Mancini tactics have been all over the place at times like the 3 at the back rubbish at the start of the season and putting Kolarov on the wing which hasn’t work once since his time at City.
I just like to see what opinons you all have, why have we under performed this season?, who do you want to see brought in, in the summer? who do you want to see leave? and anything else you want to discuss, feel free to.

I have no idea what your team did wrong, great signings in Sinclair, rodwell, Garcia and Maicon. Man city won the league on GD and brought in crap, expected to dominate, Kagawa has been decent and Van Persie very good at times. But it was mainly just crap management

De Jong being sold was a big mistake. All the players bought in the summer haven’t improved the team apart from Nastasic. City have created the most chances in the premier league this season, they’ve just lacked that deadly finish in front of goal.

Aguero’s injuries have been costly, all the draws killed city. Plus sometimes they overplay everything the players look like they’re too scared to shoot from outside the box.. they literally try to walk the ball into the net at times. They should buy some pacey players who can play out wide – and a new striker.

I’m not a city fan ( sorry ) but you have an inept manager !

You couldnt beat the average teams away from home because the squad is lead by an average manager & full of prima donna’s who only get motivated for the big games.

I would take city to beat any team in the perm in a game, but over a season they do not have the grit nor tensity to produce the goods week in week out, which is something Utd are great at.

start of the season, the players and management were complacent they had no idea that the rest of the premier leagues stepped up, well some did!?

I Think it could be becuase of something like ,,Not Playing Good Enough

  • Answerer 8

Inconsistently, and buying average players like Rodwell & Sinclair, Javi Garcia. Not trying hard enough to sign Van Persie.. Selling De Jong and Adam Johnson who put 110% every game, it was like Craig Bellamy a few years ago, I was gutted when he was sold.

I am not a Manchester City supporter but in answer to your question i think it quite simply has been a lack of goals and creativity.
There have been games this season where the opposition has succesfully shut up shop and stopped your team from playing, in Manchester United’s case they have won these kind of games.
