  • Different teams/coaches use different numbers for plays. You would have to talk to your coach to find out what you team uses… Good luck…..

  • The numbers in a play are positional. I had running plays like 33 dive. All the 33 means is the 3 running back gets the play just like a 22 would be the 2 back gets the play and ask the coach really just ask the coach it’s a camp you are suppose to learn and ask questions its not a dumb question it is just somthing you never learned I never knew what it was until I was told. 99% of the time the coach won’t think any serious question is a dumb question unless he is a dick. Just go up to him before you start playing and tell him you are confused about something he will be glad that you are wanting to learn that’s why the camp is being held

  • You have to ask your coach or another player. Most school just use two numbers. One of the numbers could be the formation but I’ve never seen a numbering system where 2 or 3 would be a sweep. Most schools number with even on the right and odd on the left and counting out from the middle but I’ve seen a few schools use 1-9 from left to right.

My high school’s sweeps were 48 or 49 most of the time but we had 29 and 58 for the powerback to carry. And 18 and 19 for the quarterback carrying but we never used those. They were usually to the split or slot side because crackback blocks were still legal.

  • I’ve never heard of 3 numbers but usually the first number is the back (1back/2back/3back/4back) and the second number is the hole he would be running to. For example a 32 blah blah would mean the 3back is running the ball thru the 2 hole
