My position paper is going to be on citizens and why we should do more on global warming, can you give me the best three reasons there are to it?

1. Petroleum is not going to last forever. It is inevitable that it will become scarce so we should start getting off of it now.
2. The earth is warming and the future climate could be radically different then it is today resulting destruction to civilization of unimaginable proportions. Things are so uncertain because scientists believe there are tipping points, that, when reached, will propel climate change with great rapidity.
3. Renewable energy is geographically distributed by its very nature (whereas fossil fuels are very concentrated). Moving to renewable energy will enhance the independence of people everywhere and bring about more democratization. The main problem will be wresting the concentrated (political) power from the few people that currently control those concentrated fossil fuel resources.
Oil companies are concerned for the environment.
