So um, yeah. My hair is a medium dark brown and I haven’t had it dyed for around a year and half now. I’ve never bleached it. I want to get my hair dip dyed bright purple(:
I’ve bought a La Riche Directions hair dye pot in Plum and a stargazer bleaching kit, but I just want to know how much bleaching it would take to get my hair a purple like this:

Also, even though I have not bleached my hair before and have not dyed it for ages will it still totally ruin my hair?

If your hair at the ends is dyed this brown colour, when you bleach it it will turn orange-y. Even if it is natural you’ll have to get it past the orange stage. Unless your purple is potent enough to kill the orange, which it probably is not (if it is the purple dye would be really dark, almost look black in the container) you will have to bleach it to a pale yellow, almost white, for it to look that bright. It will be damaged.. Depending how strong your hair is, but shouldn’t be too bad. Good luck!
