I have a very simple question. I have had my hamster for about 3 days now but did not (unfortunately) fully follow the rules as to leaving it alone for the first couple of days as I was unaware. it usually just sniffs my hand and walks away but i did hand feed it and it came onto my hand when i had it suspend in mid air out of the upside down hut it was in. it crawled between my hands as i made a continuous bridge but i think i did it too much as it started shaking, so i gently pet its back and spoke softly to which the shaking stopped about 50%. However i was also re-arranging its cage while it was in there and attempting to place him onto the second story i had built.
He doesn’t bite me at all, its day three as i send you this email, also is it ok to watch him a lot or should i really give him a lot of space?

Feel free to interact with him as much as you want.. in my opinion, hamsters only need till the next day after you buy them to get used to their cage.. but they only like being handled for no more then 10 mins at a time. have fun with him thats why you got a pet hamster, spend as much time with him as you want, that will only make him friendlier
Youre doing fine. When i bought my hamster he was a little suspicous of me at first but i talked to him in a low voice and gave him lots of treats which he loved! Youre hammy will warm up to you in good time. Soon he’ll be hanging on his door just so youll hold and play with him. And dont worry about watching him. Itll get him used to your pressence and scent.
