Hamster is constipated?

Hello, I have a 2 year old Russian Dwarf Hamster. I’ve noticed her stomach is hard and bloated. I did some research and she has all the symptoms of constipation. I have been giving her apples and banana and little bits of olive oil every 24 hours. ( I give her water through a syringe to make sure she is not dehydrated) It is also mentioned on this website that oatmeal can help her relieve her constipation. I’m about to run to the store to buy some plain, orginal oatmeal for her. Anyways, my question! Should I take her off her solid hamster food from the pet store and put her on an oatmeal diet? I never had a hamster go through this before and any tips or advice will be appreciated.

P.S. She acts perfectly fine. She eats, drinks, runs on her wheel and is active. If she gets worse I will take her to my local vet.

Thanks, much apreciated!

  • Change the diet of the hamster, and make sure it has plenty of water 24/7. If wet tail develops, seek medicine from the local pet store.

  • Ya, you will desire to attempt giving your hamster end result, exp. grapes (peel of the exterior), carrots, papayas, corns and much less of seed for 2 to 3 days. replace water popular. If his abdomen remains no longer undemanding and swelled do convey him to a vet. desire he would be nice.
