Has anyone ever been sent to rehab even though they didn’t really need it?

Last fall my parents had me go to a Rehab program for alcoholism and I have spent the past four months in treatment and sober living facilities, going to AA meetings, etc. The only reason I went is because I dropped out of college several times and on my last failed attempt, I moved back home. my parents made me agree not to drink while living with them, but the one night I went out, when my parents found out I was asked to leave the house and live in my car. (I’m 21 and have always been raised with anything/everything I need). anyway, The effects of the program have made me start living in fear of myself and the world, and I think I’m actually worse off than I was before. I wasn’t even drinking that much, less than most college kids do. I had dated an alcoholic guy however, and much of the partying I was around was a result of dating him. Anyway, if anyone has any suggestions for how to get back to feeling like myself now I would appreciate it so much.

Robbie Williams went to rehab for caffeine addiction. Although I think it was a publicity stunt for his new album…

In fear? how would AA make you live in fear? AA is there to help you, not hurt you. If you can’t control your drinking. Then go to AA. Alchohol makes you have a false sence of security and confidence. Which can get you killed. You need to stick to the rooms and keep your head up. You can always go to a halfway house if you want that kind of help. Noone goes to rehabilitation therapy if they “never really needed it” Rehab is to help you Rehabilitate with society so you do not become a wino living under a bridge. If you “never really needed it” then they wouldn’t take you. Thats all I have to say
