Help! Do Jobs/Colleges look down upon people who have their GED instead of a high school diploma?

Hi everyone, I am years old, turning next Tuesday.
I am a grade behind due to starting public school a year late. I’ve always hated the fact that I was a grade behind and I thought I could do summer school to graduate on time, because next year is SUPPOSED to be my last year of high school but it isn’t I still have two more years, meaning I’ll probably be when I finally graduate, and for some reason that is really embarrassing for me.

So I just want to take my GED NOW instead of graduating highschool late! I do plan on going to college and I plan on getting a job before this summer begins! Will having my GED instead of a HS Diploma give me some sort of disadvantage?

  • So long as you have a high school equivalency proof or higher, you will be okay. you will have to do entrance examinations to prove your capabilities, and, if you get less than %, the groups will look upon you in a bad way.
  • It is very hard to get a job at age . You can go to a community college with just a GED but very few regular colleges will accept it especially from someone of high school age. If you do get a GED you really need to go to a community college for at least two years as employers do look down upon GEDs. The reason that employers do not like to hire people with GEDs is that often they dropped out of high school for poor attendance which is something any employer does not want in an employee.
