Hi I’m looking to get a skateboard or longboard?

I’d probably prefer to get a longboard because of all the things I’ve read, and I’m not really into stunts. And also cus I think they’re cooler ;D. I’m a beginner like never been on 1 beginner so I’d like something not too difficult. And plus do you know where to find on at a good price?

  • so since you are not into tricks a longboard is your what you want. They are ment more for just getting around. There is a fiew things you need to know about longboard’s whic are: the diffrence in deck size (the wood u stand on), weel texture, truck size and abilities(part that holds the weels), and deck shape.so ill list all the difrences and uses for each part for you.

    deck size: The longer your deck the faster you go but makes little diffrence in dificulty

    weel texture: so there are smooth and groved flat is just for cruzing which you will do more of as a beginner and groved are mor for skiding which takes time to learn (also you need special gloves for that)

    Trucks: the size does not madder just get what comes with the board

    Truck ability: there are side winder trucks and normal trucks if you are planning on going fast get the normal trucks if you are just cruzing get the side winder. Side winders let you turn sharper and are a little harder to ride but well wort it in tight roads. If you are thinking about going down hill and building spead (what I prefer) you want normal trucks these will let you go faster with out giving you speed wobbles which are scarry and no fun.

    deck shape: if you are just going around town get what you like they have all sorts of crazzy looking shapes sutch as feet some have holes cut in them exc. but if you are going to go fast get somthing that liiks like a surf board or a board or anything that is long or over three feet.

    so a good brand is sector nine and there top seller is the surf board looking on (what i own)

    if you are looking for a place to buy one check a mall store like zumies but it is better to go to a shop that is not in the mall they tend to know what they are dooing
