I’ve recently upgraded from Windows XP to Windows , and have discovered a massive file called Windows.old which contains everything I had in XP. I would like to get rid of it, as it’s taking up more memory than it should, but I’m not entirely sure what I need from it. Do I drag all program files? Also, even if these files are in windows.old, do they still run from this file?

just keep your pictures and stuff that you really want to keep and put them on your c drive and delete windows old.
You can find all your data in windows.old file. Plus, it also useful if you ever want to roll back to winxp.
you won’t be able to transfer programs from it. it’s not taking up memory, just disk space. you can delete it. read the following about deleting windows.old after installing windows
