How do I stop laughing nervously or when I don’t know what to say?

I have a tendency to laugh when I’m in a somewhat uncomfortable situation, sometimes to release tension during completely inappropritate situations, whenever I’m nervous and when I don’t know what to say. I’ve noticed this confuses some people and it really annoys me. Does anyone have any tips on how to control this? It’s like some kind of defense mechanism: If I laugh, I don’t have to answer, and I don’t have to worry about consequences. But I actually do wanna confront uncomfrotable situations and let go of my emotions. Any help is much appreciated.

  • When u dont know what to say, just say ” i dont know what to say”. Say ur true feelings. U know, sometimes i like to laugh for no reason in serious situations that make people think im crazy. Thats okay, just try complimentary laugh, u know, laughing of showing respect like “ha.. Hahaha” with chris brown style.
  • Instead of laughing you could crack your knuckles or buy gum and blow a bubble and crack a cheeky smile at them when you are nervous
