How do you free disk space?

My computer keeps telling me I am running low on disk space, and that i have MB left. It told me to remove programs, so I tried to remove Microsoft Works since I don’t use it. Once I tried,it said there was not enough disk space to remove it. How do I get it to remove it and stop notifying me?

  • Right click your largest file and delete it.

once you have enough space use this program to find out what is using up all your hard disk space.

Sorry if the link didn’t work before I just fixed it.

  • . Right click on your Windows Drive (probably C drive)

    . Go to Properties

. Under the General tab, click on Disk Cleanup

. In the newly opened mini window, click on “more Options” tab.

. Click on CLEANUP button under “system restore and shadow copies”

. Go to Disk cleanup tab and select (mark) all the boxes.

    . Hit OK.

You will see a lot of free space in your Windows drive and you will get rid of that annoying message

  • try first to remove small programs that you don’t use. Eg, video games. Video files are generally HUGE – MB +, try a few of those, after you have erased some small stuff. delete stuff to the recycle bin, then empty the recycle bin, so on and so forth, your machine will be good as new.

  • I don’t think MB is even possible… Are you sure you don’t have a virus lurking around in there?

  • clean up your shadow copies, right click on drive c and go to properties

    then clean up
