Basically it is the same as in English, past subjunctive followed by the conditional. However English complicates things by bringing in the past subjunctive of the verb “to be” simply because other verbs, such has “to lose” have no different form for the past subjunctive. You can do the same in Spanish, “si fuera a perder” but this sounds overly complicated, and the same meaning can be conveyed by “si perdiera toda su felicidad” (or “si perdiese”).
