How much do you have to owe Credit card co. for them to constantly Call?

My mom’s boyfriend’s phone always rings and he says it is some credit card company yet he will not show her his phone when it rings.

He says he owe about $6.

How much does one have to owe/be in det in order for credit card companies to begin calling?

Thanks

  • It’s not the balance that causes collectors to call. It’s not paying his bills.

Or maybe it is his girlfriend calling.

In either case, he sounds like a loser and your mother should tell him to hit the road.

  • Credit card companies will only make collection calls on accounts that are past due and/or that are over the limit.

  • It is probably a machine doing the calling, not a person, so a small amount of debt (as little as $5) is enough to put him on the calling list.

  • Credit card companies don’t care what your total balance is – if you’re late in making a payment, they’ll call you. If you’re really late, they’ll call you a LOT. Whether your balance is $6 or $60.

  • If they want their money, a few bucks is sufficient. More likely, though, if they are trying to collect in-house before selling the debt, $1 or more is enough.

  • the amont doesnt matter. once its over 30 days late they wont stop calling until its paid. better question is why doesnt he let anybody see the phone.

  • They don’t call because of the balance.

They call because he’s not paying.

    Or it’s his girlfriend.

She should make her affections dependant upon his maning up and paying his bills.
