i am wanting to buy a washington arms from a guy and it has the stamp and all but the barrel is sawed off and it looks like the stock has been made into a pistol grip. the stock is broke in half and its in pretty bad shape. but for some reason he thinks it still has tons of value which i know it doesn’t so i need a price. thanks

  • A shotgun that has a barrel shorter than 18″ is a short barreled shotgun (SBS) if it also has no stock (just a pistol grip) then it is an Any Old Weapon (AOW). SBSs and AOW are NFA (National Firearms Act) guns and are regulated and registered. By saying “it has the stamp”, I assume that it has already been registered. In order for it to be transferred to you, you need to go through a Class III FFL holder to do the transfer, which can take several months and require that you pay for a new stamp.

I might have value to the right collector, but as with most collectibles, the less that it is in its original condition, the less value that it has. Based on your description, it probably does not have a lot of value. Here is a discussion on the brand: http://www.shotgunworld.com/bbs/viewtopic.php?p=42…
