how much is the hemp plant useful?

The plant is very useful for making strong, durable clothing, as well as rope (in the old days of shipbuilding, rope was always made of hemp, because it withstood the elements much better than rope made of other fibres). Hemp is also useful as biomass (i.e. you can burn it as fuel to power steam turbines). It burns efficiently and yields high rate of return, and is renewable. It also has some documented pharmaceutical properties. Hemp oil is also high in essential fatty acids (Omega –), as well as beta-carotene.
