  • Well, 15 MPH is kind of a lot to gain in just 1 year, just do some long toss, workout legs and core, and stay loose. You don’t HAVE to be huge to throw hard. Look at some pitchers in the MLB, tall and lanky.

  • Funny you ask that, because I am 13 years old and my fastball is around 60 MPH. A year is a long time, and you will grow. Naturally it will get a little faster. If you want to push for speed, there’s a few things you can do. First, you need to make sure you are taking advantage of the mound. You have to learn to get some push off that mound. Lifting weights will help, but you need to be strong in the legs, too. I do think you should lift, but strengthing your calves and thighs is just as important. Look for drills you can do to make your legs strong.
