How to clean laptop keyboard?

The ASDW keys, and others on my HP Pavilion g have recently drawn my attention as when I’m playing a game or doing anything that requires me to use those keys, they stick. And I don’t mean physically, the command sticks so sometimes if I press any of the keys it will hold the command until I button bash to cancel it. I’m pretty sure this is to do with dirt/dust under the keys and they need cleaning, but I’m unsure of how to do it. The keys are small, flat and very neatly enclosed together and I wouldn’t want to take the keys out to clean underneath, I’ve tried hoovering the keyboard and in between to try and get rid of the dirt/dust but it just hasn’t worked. Does anyone know a good way to fix this issue? Thankyou 🙂

  • I’ve been using cyber clean. A friend recommended it so I tried it out, I’ve since bought two more. They say it’s multi-use, but with how dirty my keyboards get before I bother cleaning them, it is a one time use product but I normally get the entire machine clean.

  • Do NOT use any solvent, if that gets inside the machine can be trashed, you can buy special computer cleaning fluids that are non destructive. but I always use a small amount of good washing up liquid dripped onto a cloth which has been wetted and squeezed out. And then wipe of with another cloth wrung almost dry. And keep the wiping off cloth clean by re-wetting and squeezing it out.round the edges of keys a cotton bud similarly damp will work.

  • I use eKlenz Keyboard Cleaners. They do a good job of cleaning the dust and dirt between and on top of the keys.
