  • What kind of tele you’ve got… is it the CRT kind or flat screen? I cannot guess the video connections/connectors type from your question.

Okay! So it’s mono audio and one yellow RCA cable… just a minute

If you are all connected try channel 3 or 4 on your TV

b.t.w. if your TV is PAL SECAM and the adaptor is NTSC, it will not work.

So that’s an RGB adaptor, you need VGA to analog Video (yellow RCA) adaptor instead. That’s why it doesn’t work…

This is how it should look like:

  • red blue green is a component cable. its different than RCA even though they fit the same holes. Component cables are all video. RCA cables which are yellow red white are for video AND audio. The yellow is the video. And even if your TV does have a component input a VGA-to-component cable is not going to work between the two devices. You can try it like I did but you would be wasting time and money. You will have to do more research and check around google to see of a connection can be made but dont hold your breath….your TV sounds like it is to old…..

  • Right click on desktop and select “Properties”. Then go to settings and select the rectangle with the number 2 in it. Check “Extend desktop to this monitor” and it should work. Remember that it’s an additional monitor so in order to use it you need to drag the windows into it. XP doesn’t have very good dual monitor integration.
