How to convince my parents to let me stay behind?

So, I have been living with my grandmother for a few months now because of problems with depression caused by child abuse at my home. (with the permission of my parents.) Now, my parents have announced that they’re moving to CA (we live in MA), and it will be soon, before the coming school year. They have a job and house offer in Cali. Since I am a junior in high school, I would like to stay behind living with my grandmother and not move. Not only do I have a boyfriend of 2 years here, I also am in an amazing music program at school that is not found anywhere else in the country. (Free private lessons, I’m in a paying quartet, two orchestras, several chamber groups, all for free at the school.) There is no other place in the country that provides a music program like this, and music glues me together, considering the family problems I’ve had. My parents said they would consider letting me stay to finish high school, since I’m already living with my grandmother. How do I convince them this is the best choice for me?

  • I understand what you’re saying and what i would do is tell my parents i have musical talent that may make me famous or at least really good if you stayed. Also tell them you are almost done with school and have all your friends here and you have FREE PRIVATE LESSONS and the other stuff. Then if they really love you they’ll let you stay. I play the trumpet and is the best in my grade and if i had to leave id be mad especially with free lessons.

  • Hide in the closet when they come. They won’t find you. Trust me. Thry’ll gorget about you in 5 minutes
