I am trying to eliminate the strong odor of leather or some kind of chemical agent. Any suggestions?

I think you need to wash in ammonia-wash it but don’t dry it. That’ll get rid on the scent but line dry right away it so it’ll get sun on it. You might need to do this repeatedly- times but it will fade. Its new and it’s like dry clean. Or if you have money to burn, take it to the dry cleaners but this’ll work also. I just don’t think you need to dry it or it may crack with the heat. It is skin for animals and it needs to breathe while it dries so right away hang it up. I learned the hard way! It might be good for it to be hung overnight so the moon and wind can “cure” it. Nobody knows why, but it’s supposed to be beneficial. It also might release the stank.
