I was looking through files tonight and found a strange recording. It was titled ‘secret’ and when played it’s an androgynous (presumably female) voice saying . That’s all there was. Does anyone know what the meaning of this could be or how it got there?

You should look at where it is located to determine what it is.
The directory may well be temporary. Then it is junk and you should delete it.
It could be a captcha code. In that case it should be in a directory that you can identify with software you use to download files or a temporary directory.
It could be also from a game that you play – that should be obvious from its directory.
You didn’t mention the extension but if it is wmv then it is probably associated with some software that you downloaded (most likely a game but it could be geographic and could be a zip code).
I suggest that you move it to a temporary directory that you create. Then wait a month, or until you have used all your software, and if you haven’t had any failures then you can safely delete it.
The most likely cause for that would be CAPTCHA code prompt, many of them provide a sound option and it would pretty much sound exactly what you’re describing.
