I just had an experience I want to turn into a horror story?

I was just swimming in our local lake in Catawba County, North Carolina, which is essentially a valley that was dammed and flooded about 60 years ago. People had told me lots of farms were abandoned and are underwater now, but it wasn’t until yesterday that I saw it for myself. A few friends/relatives and I took a pontoon boat back into a cove that was quiet and had no houses nearby. All of a sudden our boat scraped something, and I put on scuba goggles to go down and move what I thought was a log. It was metal….as I kept feeling downward, I discovered that it was a tin roof! On a second and third dive I found the rest of a barn, covered in mussels and a dark crust. Of course I didn’t find a dead body or something too crazy, but I do feel inspired to make a story out of this. Any suggestions? Feel free to throw some creativity my way.

  • For starters, don’t put a whole dead body down there… put part of one. A nice, fresh, recently deceased arm is always good for a scare, especially if it is sticking out of a window so your vic—- errr, character goes for a closer look. By then, of course, it is too late to run.
