  • You can’t get in trouble unless you posted something that is untrue. Then the celebrity would have to prove that what you said was untrue

Disliking someone’s dress sense is not a problem – that’s subjective and you can write what you want. Calling someone a bad role models is also subjective. As long as you back it up with facts (i.e., she is often photographed out partying until in the morning, she has been arrested for drunk driving, she made a porn tape, etc) and it’s all true then you cannot get in trouble

It only becomes libel and defamation if you post something that is untrue about the person. So if you said this person only got a certain job because they slept with the director, but do not have actual proof that this happened (like her or the director admitting it in an interview) then you can get in trouble. If you word it like “There are rumors floating around Hollywood that she only got the job because she slept with the director” that’s ok as long as there are other people who may have insinuated that in print, on Twitter, etc. Or you can’t call someone a thief if they were arrested but not actually convicted of theft – you could say “she was accused of theft by a store employee” but you cannot call her a thief if she was not prosecuted. As for drugs, unless the person has been arrested for possession or has gone into treatment, be very careful calling someone a drug addict if you cannot provide actual proof they are an addict. Someone who has done coke at a party is not necessarily an addict. Someone busted with pot in their car is not necessarily an addict.

So it’s all about how you word things. As long as you stick to both facts — and personal opinions that are not presented as facts, you are fine. Where you get in trouble is when things that are not true and are stated as an absolute are in print

  • Don’t worry, there are far worse things posted on the web daily. Or in the tabloid newspapers. You can always delete the post but why would you do it. Look, everybody slags of celebs and from what you say you weren’t hating just for the sake of it. Next time you can write about a different celeb that you think is a good role model and explain why. Or you can berate another celeb and make it a series. Your blog might get popular.

  • it will be fine websites like perez and daily mail do it all the time and thoes are major websites
