I think that I’m mildly autistic?

Well I have never really thought about it before, until I met someone with autism over the internet. Her’s is pretty bad as she is in her twenties and she still lives with her parents being homeschooled. I was curious about autism so I researched it – and the behavioral symptoms are very similar to mine. I have always been extremely introverted and self-conscious around people to the point that I meet most of my friends over the internet. I feel uncomfortable making eye contact with others and can get absolutely sucked into any activity & continue with it for hours. I also have a habit of being sucked into my own thoughts. I had speech problems growing up. I even do the exact same things every day to the point that it bothers other people. Am I mildly autistic? How would I know for sure?
Also I have trouble getting things through my head and when I don’t get something I get frustrated and my brain stops working and I seem to be very quiet and “depressed.”

  • Possibly. Many, many people are. Me too!
However, the label does not define anyone.
Be the best you can be and let labels only guide you to finding techniques which help you and od not allow hold you back from doing what you want and need to do.
Look for solutions not excuses. You are better and stronger than you think you are. You are lovable and capable. Tell yourself that daily and it becomes true. Each human being is unique. All of us have strengths and weaknesses. These do not define us.
We are all ok and can get even better.

Love yourself and others and be kind to yourself and others.

  • You can take a test for Autism here:
