I would like to dye my hair blue, but my mom wont let me what can i do?

I’m years old and its summer vacation, so of course i want to do something crazy. I asked my mom about months before school ended if i could dye my hair a crazy color and she was very open minded about it, letting me try different colors in my hair until we found the right one. Last week i finally mentioned i like this one blue we tried, but she told me that she didn’t want my hair one color because i need to start looking professional. I didn’t want to argue so i said ok but i would really like some tips on how to talk her into it or convince her. And please don’t just tell me to do it without her knowing i don’t feel like losing her trust.

  • Just a note- its admirable that you aren’t just saying screw your mom and doing what you want. I would say talk to her about doing some bold streaks and not just an all over color. Either that or do the bottom half a solid color and leave the top half natural.

Having all over color can prevent you from getting jobs unless you are willing to change it so I understand where your mom is coming from. I currently have blue hair and shaved sides and although I present myself in a “professional” way in many other aspects and have been willing to change my color, I haven’t been able to get the jobs I have wanted.

  • When a mom says no, she means no. You can’t change her mind. And at almost you need to start being a little but more grown up. But ask for a nice compromise with a temporary blue streak.

  • You could always just dip dye it with koolaid. You really cannot do anything about it. You can try sitting down with your mom and talking about it. Maybe write a persuasive letter. Give her reasons why you want it done and why it is important to you. JUST DO NOT DO IT BEHIND HER BACK!!!

  • Try finding something temporary and let her know its a temporary dye;)

  • Try to just do highlights or your ends. Ask her if thats ok.

  • You can temporarily dye it blue using the chalk stuff. (・ω・)ノ
