If after stretching my ears will they ever return to normal?

I currently have 16G in and I want to go bigger up to about a 6G. So let’s say I get to a 6G and decide I don’t want stretch holes anymore. Will my lobs over return to normal? And when I mean normal I don’t mean before it was pierced, I mean like back to the 18g or 20g that I originally had after getting it pierced. And also how would I go about doing it. A friend told me that if you are a 6g and you want to return to normal then you would just reverse the stretching process and put in a 8g then 10g an so forth. Is that true?

  • Depends on your body. No, reversing the process won’t work.
Here is a guide that may help, if it is possible for your body to go back to normal:

Again, it may turn out that your body simply cannot go back to being able to use normal earrings. If you stretch them too far, some ears simply won’t go back to normal.

  • 6g isn’t very large, and so it’s most likely that they would return to a barely noticeable hole. The holes will be loose for regular earrings, though.
When I had stretched up to that size, they easily went back down to a “regular” hole. That was a long time ago; I’ve since stretched them up to 2 inches (51mm) — they’re huge and won’t go smaller than 1 5/8 inches now.

  • If you don’t use a really large gauge, it should return to normal or close to it.

  • yes, it’s skin it does heal. it will take a while but yes it is possible.
