If I pull into a driveway and scrape the car on the wall and make some scratches is that considered a accident?

    As long as the damage is not exceeding $1000, does not involve another vehicle, a person, or a public sign…I know you do not have to report it to your insurance company. So if that’s the case for you, then it would be considered an accident from whoever owns the car and makes you pay to fix it.

    Did you dent the car? I did this and it left some paint on my fender. I was actually able to clean the paint off with some denatured alcohol. I then waxed the surface and it looks great.

    If no-one has been hurt and any damages can be settled out of your own pocket, then you don’t have to report it to the insurance company or the police. If either of them become involved it would be treated as an accident. That is providing the owners of both the car (if not you) and the wall (if not yours) come to an agreement. You cannot raise a claim for repairs without it being entered as an accident.
