I’m Terrified for My Upcoming AP Tests?

I’ve got AP Lang on Friday and APUSH next Wednesday. I’m starting to freak out. How hard are these exams? Any last minute study tips? I’ve been doing really well in practice, but I feel like I’m going to fail on the actual exams. I’m a slow writer. I’m always working up to the last minute. I’m so scared!

The AP Language test has a really low rate for ‘s. It’s usually between % and %, but this could be because of the fact that so many students take this test.

Regardless, it is a hard test. Practice is key, and you absolutely need to know rhetoric to get a . Study rhetorical devices, common literary devices, and logical fallacies for the multiple choice. Here’s some more advice: time is a HUGE restraint. Skip questions that require you to go back to large portions of the text (e.g. See lines -), they will eat up your time. Also skip questions that require you to refer back to the text for each option.

If you are unable to eliminate an answer, guess C. it is statistically the most common letter on the AP Language exam. Of course, eliminating answers is ideal before guessing, but this is a backup.

The FRQ portion of the test will make your wrist feel like it’s going to fall off. Make SURE you completely understand the question before you even start writing. Remember to write counterarguments whenever you can, use rhetoric, and write well. If you’re short on time, skip the conclusion portion of your essay, not the body paragraphs. You’re scored based upon what you do well, not what you’re bad at. Keep this in mind. Apply your knowledge of current events wherever you can.

The APLAC test is difficult that is no lie, my teacher last year said it is “biased towards smart people.” This is very true. It is difficult to score a , but not impossible, I did it. Good luck!

  • I only took APUSH, not ap lang, sorry :c

    but anyway:

For APUSH, its all about just making a thesis then vomiting your information all over the paper. it sounds silly but that’s honestly what you have to do. Make a thesis, then support it. Make sure your thesis covers all the major topics that your essay is going to be about. I would recommend looking over the steps to a quickly depending on how much time you have left, that’s what I used, so I can’t really speak for the other review books.
