  • Depends on the age of the computer as in what CPU you have and whether you have a program like the anti virus program or something else that is hogging the cpu or a runaway process.
    If your computer is more than 5 years old and you have a low end cpu, then most likely the anti virus is causing the problem as the anti virus is the one program that is running permanently. More information is required. What OS you have, how much RAM you have, what programs you have installed and does it do this all the time. the age of the PC, what anti virus, firewall etc you have.
  • Press Ctrl/Alt/Delete which will bring up Task Manager, check what is running and disable what you don`t need.
    Be careful what you delete though.
