Find a way out of it if you are worried. If you decide to get it, make sure it is mercury free.
The manufacturers of the flu vaccines state in the package inserts that they don’t know if the flu vaccine is safe for pregnant women.
Seasonal flu vaccine package inserts:
Afluria brand http://www.fda.gov/downloads/BiologicsBloodVaccine…
24.5 mcg of mercury per dose from a multi-dose vial.
No mercury from a pre-filled syringe
(From page 1): “Safety and effectiveness of AFLURIA® have not been established in
pregnant women or nursing mothers and in the pediatric population.”

FluLaval brand

Fluvirin brand

No mercury from a pre-filled syringe or from a single dose vial
(From page 9): “Pregnancy Category C: Animal reproduction studies have not been conducted with Fluzone vaccine. It is also not known whether Fluzone vaccine can cause fetal harm when administered to a pregnant woman or can affect reproduction capacity.”
Im 4 months pregnant and yesterday i saw my doctor.and she recommend me to go get a flu shot.oh she didnt recommend the swine flu shot since its coming out so fast and not had enough testing on pregnant women
It is believed to be safe as far as I am aware, they even recommend Flu jabs when you are pregnant, as you are calculated in the “high-risk” catergory because during pregnancy, our immune systems become weaker because of the baby.
Go to your GP and ask, I’m sure you’ll be fine. If it is the normal flu jab, your doctor will probably recommend it, if its other stuff like Tamiflu, they’ll discuss it with you
Best of Luck x

Yes, the flu shot has been approved and is recommended for pregnant women.

my clinic recommends it espically if you are pregnant. i am three months pregnant and they just gave me the regular flu shot and when they recieve the swine flu shot in october they reccomend i get that one too.
Pregnant women, children and the elderly are all first in line to get the shot. They are recommending it and it’s best that you do get both the regular flu shot and the H1N1 shot.

According to the CDC website, pregnant women should get the flu shot. Also, my sis in law got it when she was pregnant.
Yes, you should be getting the flu shot especially if you’re pregnant.

Ask your doctor before getting the shot. If your doctor says no, then your job cannot force you to get the shot.
My doctor told me that she actually wanted me to get the vaccine.. and that they were only getting a certain amount- and that pregnant women were the 1st priority.
